We have all heard about how Mariah Carey is looking good in her wedding dress after marrying her young, good looking mate, Nick Cannon. Mariah was on Oprah talking about her weight loss success too. She went from a size 8 to a size 2! Now I
know most people say “Oh brother, like a size 8 is so big.” I always thought Mariah was already a nice size but after dropping 3 dress sizes she does look fabulous and fit! One of her tips I found good was that she doesn’t eat carbs and protein together any more. I know this works because years back I bought this book by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond called Fit for Life and it showed the importance of proper food combining. I followed that diet and lost weight on that program. The recipes were great too. Of course Mariah is working out too. You can’t get around that if you want to loose weight successfully plus it is good for your heart, bones and anti-aging benefits to get moving. Another beautiful Haitian born celebrity, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon is looking great 7 months after having twins. She was in the latest People magazine in a bikini holding her adorable twin boys! She said she stayed on a healthy diet during and after her pregnancy along with working out to drop those baby pounds.

Women contact me often wanting to know what they can do to loose weight after child birth. It can be a challenge. Diet is important, especially if you are breast feeding. But one of the benefits of breast feeding is that it helps the body to fall back into place quicker. Breast feeding burns up to 500 calories per day! Don’t worry about any type of dieting until the baby is at least 2 months old if breast feeding so the body can develop a heavy amount of milk for the baby. Eat at least 1500-1800 calories per day if you are breast feeding, just stick with wholesome meals and avoid the junk and processed foods. Avoid those quick fix diets, low-carb diets and fad diets. If you want to try herbal supplements for weight loss I recommend you wait until you are finished breast feeding and just continue your healthy meals, drinking plenty of water and exercise. Try daily walks with baby or a fun exercise DVD.
